O'ahu flash flood warning issued again

Advertiser Staff

O'ahu in now under a flash flood warning as heavy rains redevelop along the Windward side from Maunawili to Waiahole and Hau'ula, according to the National Weather Service. People in low lying areas should move to higher grounds now, the weather service said. Stay away from steams and do not cross fast flowing or rising water, the weather service warned. At 10:35 a.m. radar showed a build up of heavy rain that is expected to persist for several more hours. Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Punalu'u, Ka'a'awa, Waikane and Kahalu'u.

Earlier this morning, the Weather Service downgraded its flood warning to flash flood watch for most islands but said conditions are still ripe for flooding if rainfalls worsen.
