Heavy rains adding to commuters' traffic woes

Advertiser Staff

Heavy rain is contributing to delays heading into town from the windward side this morning.

Visibility on the Pali Highway is limited to just a few car lengths as a result of the rain.

Water is reported to be collecting in ponds near the tunnels on Likelike Highway and visibility in some spots is also a problem.

Traffic on the H-2 Freeway is backing up more than usual and was stacked up all the way back to Kipapa Bridge at about 7 a.m.

Things improve quite a bit once past the H-1/H-2 merge and the flow through the Middle Street merge is going fairly well at this time.

The drive in from Hawaii Kai slows significantly at the Koko Head Avenue overpass.
