Off-duty HPD officers put on alert status

The Honolulu Police Department today was on alert status due to the potential dangerous weather conditions.Off-duty officers were on standby and all officers were required to wear uniforms.
Non-essential civilian personnel were allowed to leave work early, said HPD spokeswoman Michelle Yu.
Many of them were gone by 1:30 p.m.
