Employee finds gun under hotel bed, guest arrested

An 89-year-old man was arrested at a hotel near Honolulu International Airport last night after a hotel employee reported finding a handgun under the bed in the room where the man had been staying.Police said the man had checked out of the room at the hotel on Nimitz Highway and a housekeeper was cleaning the room when she spotted the gun.
She called police who went to the hotel, recovered the gun and determined that it had be reported stolen.
Officers located the departing hotel guest, who was still on the hotel grounds and arrested him on suspicion of detaining stolen property.
