Moloka'i weather forces BOE to cancel meeting

Advertiser Staff

Because of bad weather, the Board of Education has cancelled its public meeting on Moloka'i that had been scheduled at 3:30 this afternoon at the Moloka'i Middle School Cafeteria.

"Everybody was cancelling out and the flights are delayed," said chairman Randall Yee, who said there would not have been a quorum to allow the board to enact business or make decisions.

Yee said the board will try to schedule a special meeting next week — the earliest would be Thursday — to complete business on today's agenda, including discussion on the state librarian's contract renewal.
