UH's Fukuroku, Domingo earn academic honors

Taryn Fukuroku and Jessica Domingo of the University of Hawai'i have been named to CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII women's soccer teams.Fukuroku, a sophomore from Wailuku, Maui, was a second-team selection. She has a 3.36 grade-point average in general arts and sciences.
Domingo, a junior from Honolulu, was named to the third team. She holds a 3.53 GPA as a kinesiology and leisure sciences major.
Student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve and have a minimum GPA of 3.2 to be considered.
District VIII includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Hawai'i.
Fukuroku was the only Hawai'i player to be named to the All-Western Athletic Conference first team this season.
