Oct. home resales fall, but median price up to $645K

Sales of existing single-family homes on O'ahu continued to fall in October, but the median price remained stubbornly high — $645,000 compared with $620,000 for the same month a year earlier.A total of 296 single-family homes were sold in October, down 28 percent from 418 the same month a year earlier, according to the Honolulu Board of Realtors.
Condo sales posted an even bigger drop. The 425 units sold in October represented a 32 percent drop from 624 sales a year earlier. The median condo price edged up to $310,000 in October from $290,000 a year earlier.
