Advertiser Staff

Former Kane'ohe resident Dean Wilson shot a 5-over-par 75 Thursday and was seven strokes behind the leaders in the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Wilson had six bogeys and a birdie (par-4, 14th) and was tied for 24th in the 27-man field.

The season-ending tournament showcases the top 30 players on the money list.

Wilson is ranked No. 20.

The No. 1 player, Tiger Woods, is not playing. Phil Mickelson (No. 4) also is not playing.

Retief Goosen and Joe Durant are tied for the lead, shooting 2-under-par 68s on a cool, windy day at East Lake Golf Club.

Goosen and Durant share a one-stroke lead on a group of six players, including Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk. Adam Scott, Stuart Appleby, Stewart Cink and Tom Pernice Jr. are also 1-under.
