Pac-Five beats Damien in ILH football

By Kalani Takase
Advertiser Staff Writer

Shandon Augustus ran for touchdowns of 20 and 3 yards to lead Pac-Five (3-8, 1-6 ILH) to a 21-20 upset of Damien (3-6-1, 2-4-1) Friday night at Kamehameha Schools' Kunuiakea Stadium.

A Damien win would have sealed the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II title. Instead, Iolani (4-4-1, 2-3-1) could win the Division II title Saturday with a win over top-ranked Saint Louis of Division I. An Iolani loss would force a playoff between Iolani and Damien next Saturday.

On quarterback George Martin's sneak into the end zone from 3 yards out with 1:06 left in the third, Damien cut the Pac-Five lead to one. However, the extra point was shanked wide left and it proved to be the difference.
