TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Las Vegas," 8 p.m., NBC. Last week's long-delayed season-opener confirmed that Delinda really likes Danny. (You'd kind of guessed that, hadn't you?) Now their romance heats up. Meanwhile, her dad, Ed, is back from Morocco. He brings surprise information about his past. And Sam still has trouble with the high-roller in Hawaii. Mike goes there to help her.

"Masters of Horror," 8 p.m., Showtime. Like most anthology shows, this can change wildly from week to week in quality and in tone. Last week's opener was so-so; this one, despite some plot holes, is terrific. We're in a sunny neighborhood, one that would make even the Wisteria Lane housewives jealous. An earnest-looking chap (George Wendt) works hard. Then a picture-perfect couple (Matt Keesler and Meredith Monroe) moves next door. They drink and smoke too much but otherwise fit a 1950s American ideal. Some secrets emerge early with more coming. Director John Landis "Blues Brothers" has captured the right tone of ironic beauty.

OF NOTE

"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969, AMC), "Apollo 13" (1995, Bravo); 6 p.m.; "The American President" (1995, ABC Family) 8 p.m. "Butch" is in the cowboy days, "Apollo" is in space and "President" is in the White House. Each is bright, well-crafted, commercial and accessible.

"Ghost Whisperer," 7 p.m., CBS. Melinda sees a woman who died in a snowstorm, 20 years ago.

"Battlestar Galactica," 7 p.m., Sci Fi Channel. The five brilliant episodes that opened the season showed that some people — especially Tygh and Starbuck — suffered brutal agony under the Cylon captivity. They're still seething at the soldiers who left them behind. Tonight brings signs of rebellion.

"Class of 3000" debut, 8 p.m., Cartoon Network. Andre Benjamin - known as Andre 3000 when he's in Outkast — is a fascinating talent, as the odd-and-intriguing movie "Idlewild" shows. He created and stars in this cartoon about a music star who becomes a teacher.

"Close to Home," 8 p.m., CBS. After chairing an art auction, the president of the PTA is killed.

"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. Sabotage hits several Los Angeles power substations, causing a series of blackouts.

"Law & Order," 9 p.m., NBC. Here is another of those mean-spirited shows that paints a real-life person with fictional crimes. Earlier this year, the "Law & Order" franchise patterned a character after rapper Kevin Federline then made him a killer. Now a Mel Gibson type (played by Chevy Chase) is a murder suspect.
