Big Island homicide victim identified

Big Island Police have positively identified a woman found dead Thursday as 21-year-old Daysha Aiona Aka.Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section received confirmation this morning from a forensic odontologist, who was able to make positive identification after comparing dental record and X-rays taken during a Friday autopsy.
Police recovered the body Thursday from the Panaewa rain forest area and arrested Jeffrey B. Santos, the victim's former boyfriend. He was charged Friday with second-degree murder and other counts.
Santos is being held at the Hilo Police cellblock on $100,000 bail.
