Teen critical after being struck by car

An 18-year-old Waimanalo male is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle late last night along Kalanianaole Highway.The teen was crossing the highway, about 53 feet west of Moole Street, when he was struck by what is believed to be a 1995 white Toyota, Honolulu police said.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly fled the scene without rendering aid, police said.
The accident occurred just after midnight. It is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors.
Police are asking the public to be on the look out for the vehicle, which may have front right side damage. Witnesses told police that the car may have been a white Jetta, but police believe the car was a Toyota.
