Salem Communications earnings fall to $1.5 million

Salem Communications Corp., the Camarillo, California-radio station owner that operates stations in Hawai'i, said net income fell in the threee months ended Sept. 30 to $1.5 million from $3.4 million a year earlier.

The company reported that it completed an exchange of KHCM 1170 AM for KORL 690 in Honolulu on Oct. 1. Salem retained the KHCM call letters to use on 690 AM.

Salem's local operations include KAIM 99.5, KGU 760, and KHNR 97.5.

It also operates KHUI 99.5 and KGMZ 107.9.
