Traffic moving along for Monday morning commuters

Advertiser Staff

The drive into town is going fairly well for a Monday.

Three collisions within a 20-minute stretch were reported to police, but all were in the west-bound lanes of the H-1 Freeway between Pearl City and Waipahu.

Traffic heading into town on in the east-bound lanes of the H-1 is backed up to the Waikele Shopping Center and remains heavy until once past the Kaonohi Street ovverpass.

The pace picks up once past Aloha Stadium, but slows to a crawl through the Middle Street merge and remains heavy until once past the downtown exits.

Traffic heading in from Hawaii Kai slows at the Koko Head Avenue overpass and remains heavy the rest of the way into town.

There are no reports of any significant problems heading in from the windward side at this hour.
