Mild weather expected for early part of week

Advertiser Staff

We're due for a respite from the muggy, sticky weather and it could come during the early part of the work week, according to the National Weather Service.

The winds out of the southeast will pick up a notch or two today then shift closer to genuine trade winds tomorrow through Friday, forecasters said.

Clear and dry weather during the early part of the week will turn to windward and mauka showers later in the week, they said.

The cooler weather probably won't last very long since a storm front approaching from the northwest could bring winds out of the southeast and more widespread showers about the time next weekend arrives.

Here's how the next few days look:

Today, mostly sunny. Highs 80 to 87. East winds around 10 mph.

Tonight, mostly clear. Lows 71 to 76. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 80 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent. Tuesday Night, mostly clear. Lows 69 to 77. East winds 10 to 15 mph and gusty.

Wednesday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 85. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Wednesday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 67 to 75. North

winds around 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
