Jan Head retiring from Kaiser; search begins for successor

Kaiser Foundation Health Plan has begun a nationwide search for a successor to Jan Head, who will retire as president of Kaiser Permanente Hawaii early next year.

Head has overseen Kaiser's Hawai'i operations for the past four years and previously had served as as senior vice president and service area manager for Kaiser's California TriCentral Service Area. Kaiser is the state's largest health maintenance organization and has about 225,000 members.

Kaiser also is looking for a replacement for Allison Maney, who has served as acting chief financial officer following the retirement of Arnold Matsunobu earlier this year.

Kaiser has narrowed candidates for the financial post and hopes to name someone to the position before Maney returns to the Mainland at the end of the year, Kaiser spokeswoman Lynn Kenton said.
