Go! October load factor falls after quakes shut airports

Advertiser Staff

Startup interisland airline go! said yesterday its planes were 62.9 percent full in October, the lowest load factor since the airline entered the Hawai'i market in June.

Go! said the airline suffered service interruptions in October when several airports were closed by power outages following to a series of earthquakes that rocked parts of the state.

Go! recorded its highest load factor — 82.5 percent — in its inaugural month of service. That figure slipped to 73.9 percent in July and 64.5 percent in August before edging up to 66.1 percent in September.

Go! said it served 60,466 passengers in October, also the lowest monthly total since June.

The airline, a division of Phoenix-based Mesa AIr Group Inc., had an overall completion factor of 99.3% and on time arrival rate of 89.4% in October. Go!'s operations generated 13.5 million available seat miles and 8.5 million revenue passenger miles for the month.
