Charter Commission clarifies stand on blank votes
Advertiser Staff
The Honolulu Charter Commission is asking voters to remember that blank votes on Honolulu Charter amendments do not count. Some voters have received erroneous information that blank votes count as "no" votes, the charter commission said in a news release.
In fact, blank ballots count as "no" votes only on state Constitutional amendment questions. For city Charter amendments, only "yes" or "no" votes are counted, the commission said.
