Jake Shimabukuro to perform with Symphony Pops

'Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro will headline two concerts this month with the Honolulu Symphony Pops, the symphony announced today.

Maestro Matt Catingub will conduct the shows, at 8 p.m. Nov. 24 and Nov. 25 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

This is Shimabukuro's first headliner with the Symphony Pops. He will perform songs from his latest album, "Gently Weeps."

'Ukulele masters Byron Yasui and Benny Chong will join Shimabukuro as special guests. Jazz musicians Dean Taba and Noel Okimoto will also perform.
