Station 99.5 KHUI gets new program director, format

Salem Media of Hawaii, operator of a half-dozen radio stations, said it promoted John Matthews to program director for 99.5 KHUI and said it will change formats for the station.Matthews has beeen program director and morning show host at Salem's Oldies 107.9 and will continue to oversee programing at that station, acccording to a Salem Media press release.
The company said it will switch to a "music-intensive format" at 99.5, which has been renamed The Jewel. The station was previously known as 99.5 The Music of Hawaii.
