Welcoming a new queen

A new queen will be crowned tonight at the 29th annual Miss Chinatown Hawai'i Pageant at the Hawai'i Theatre. The pageant, presented by the United Chinese Society, begins at 6:30 p.m. Contestants will compete for cash and prizes, including more than $30,000 in scholarships through Hawai'i Pacific University. The winner will represent Hawai'i in the national Miss Chinatown USA Pageant held in San Francisco. Tickets are $25 each and available at the Hawai'i Theatre box office.
