Four Seasons Maui makes Mobile's select 5-star list

The Four Seasons Resort Maui was the only Hawai'i hotel to earn a five-star rating in the Mobil Travel Guide Awards for 2007, which was released today. No restaurants in the state made the prestigious five-star list.Only 53 hotels and restaurants in the U.S. were awarded five stars, which is based on a ranking of establishments on more than 750 criteria for hotels and 250 for restaurants. Mobil says the process is the most rigorous and comprehensive in the industry.
Four hotels in Hawai'i made the four-star ranking:
-- Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka'upulehu, Kona, Hawaii
--Halekulani, Honolulu, Oahu
--The Kahala Hotel and Resort, Honolulu, Oahu
--The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, Kapalua, Maui
Four restaurants were awarded four stars:
--Chef Mavro, Honolulu, Oahu
--Gerard's, Lahaina, Maui
--La Mer, Honolulu, Oahu
--Spago, Wailea, Maui
