Sacred Hearts state D2 volleyball champs

Kylee Maneja and Haililani Pokipala each had seven kills and six digs to lift Sacred Hearts to a 25-21, 25-20 victory over Word of Life Thursday in the girls state high school Division II volleyball title at Stan Sheriff Center.

"We did a great job as far as the kids are concerned, working hard in the offseason and I think we were ready tonight," said Sacred Hearts coach Jonathon Tom.

Sacred Hearts finished the season at 17-6. Word of Life, which was led by Chanteal Satele with eight kills, finished 16-6.
