Garden Island newspaper owner reports higher profit

Lee Enterprises Inc., the Davenport, Iowa-based media company that owns the Garden Island newspaper on Kaua'i, said income from continuing operations in the three months ended Sept. 30 rose 31 percent to $15 million compared to the similar period a year earlier.Lee said the Garden Island was one of 37 in its chain reporting circulation growth during the quarter.
