Associated Grocers plans for Brown & Cole bankruptcy

Associated Grocers Inc., a Seattle-based retailer's cooperative that sells to stores in Hawai'i, said it had plans in place to minimize the impact of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Brown & Cole, a Washington-state grocer that represented almost 13 percent of its sales.Associated Grocers said it and its independent retailers have overcome challenges before and that they will continue to do so. Associated Grocers also sells to customers in Washington, Oregon Alaska, Guam and the Pacific Rim.
