We loved the fried rice from Side Street Inn in a recent taste-off of more than a dozen restaurants, detailed in our Dining Scene story last week. And so do you, online readers, but by just a slim margin over the pork-adobo-highlighted offering of Elena's Home of Finest Filipino Foods. Mmmmm, pork adobo!
Among the 43 voters in our online poll, 12 chose Side Street Inn; 10 picked Elena's. Not a huge sample, it must be said, considering nearly 600 voted in our June poll rating the best hamburgers in town.
The other restaurants, many recommended by readers: Asahi Grill, Big City Diner at Ward, Hapa Grill, Kaka'ako Kitchen, Kenny's Restaurant, Masa & Joyce, Mitsu-Ken, Mililani Restaurant, Taiyo Ramen, Times Coffee Shop in Kane'ohe and TJ's Sports Bar & Grill.
