Former Kapolei star accounts for 6 TDs in Navy's win
The sophomore quarterback from Kapolei High School was making only his third career start. He engineered seven straight scoring drives, providing the Midshipmen (7-3) with a commanding lead by halftime. He scored on a pair of 1-yard plunges to go along with scoring runs of 9 yards and 5 yards, and finished with 151 passing yards.
Navy scored on all four of its first-half possessions before adding three more second-half touchdowns.
Kaheaku-Enahada's 29-yard touchdown strike to Tyree Barnes with 2:01 remaining in the second quarter capped a dominant half during which the Midshipmen rolled up 282 of its 474 yards of total offense.
Eastern Michigan (1-9) put up its only first-half points on Andy Schmitt's 2-yard quarterback keeper with 6 seconds remaining in the second quarter. The Eagles were hampered by a pair of turnovers that kept them off the scoreboard until then.
The Eagles cut into the Navy lead after recovering an onside kick on the second-half kickoff. Tyler Jones finished off a short drive with a 5-yard run, drawing Eastern Michigan to within 28-14.
Jones also added a fourth-quarter 3-yard run for a touchdown, but not until after Kaheaku-Enhada had scored for the third time, putting the game out of reach.
