Northerly swell expected late Tuesday

Surf along north- and south-facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet today, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Surf along west-facing shores will be flat to 2 feet, and surf along east-facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet today.

The outlook through Friday: A new north/northwest swell is expected to arrive late Tuesday and linger into Friday, gradually turning more northerly with time.

Only background south swells are expected through the period, with a small increase in size expected around Thursday and lasting into Friday.
