Warriors closing in on AP Top 25 football poll

The University of Hawai'i football team, winners of seven consecutive games, received 39 points in The Associated Press college football top 25 poll released today.The point total puts UH at No. 26, ahead of Oregon.
The Warriors, with a record-setting offense, defeated Louisiana Tech, 61-17, yesterday at Aloha Stadium. It was the team's fourth game scoring in the 60s, a school record.
Upsets to Louisville, Texas and Auburn caused a shuffle among the top teams in the poll.
Ohio State and Michigan, which meet Saturday, remain No. 1 and 2.
Florida is No. 3, with Southern California No. 4, Arkansas No. 5, Notre Dame No. 6 and surprising Rutgers No. 7.
Boise State like UH, a member of the Western Athletic Conference is ranked No. 13, moving up from 14 last week.
