Waikiki New Year's Eve attractions announced

Sheraton Hotels in Waikiki has announced its slate of New Year's Eve attractions for Dec. 31, and the fare runs the gamut, from jazz, pop and reggae music to traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music.

At The Royal Hawaiian hotel's flagship Monarch Room, celebrants can buy a dinner package, from 7:15 p.m., with Nueva Vida, one of Honolulu's longtime bands, providing jazz, swing, pop and soul, with guest artists Anita Hall and Darryl Carter. The cost is $265 for adults ($225 kama'aina), with cocktails-only options available.

At the Royal's Surf Room, two dinner seatings are set for 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., with reggae artists Ka'ala Boys performing during the second seating. Cost: $95 for the first seating, $150 for the second.

At the Sheraton Waikiki hotel's Hawai'i Ballroom, a star-studded roster will perform from 7 p.m., with Hapa, The Makaha Sons, Bruce Shimabukuro, Kainalu with dancers from Hula Halau Na Mamo 'O Ka'ala, The Opihi Pickers and Kapena. Cost is $225 for adults ($175 kama'aina), including a buffet dinner. Show-only tickets are $85 ($65).
