Water restored to 3,600 Ewa Beach homes

Advertiser Staff

More than 3,600 homes south of the Hawai'i Prince Golf Club on Fort Weaver Road got their water back at 3 a.m. this morning as Board of Water Supply crews worked through the night to fix a broken 36-inch water main.

The homes and businesses in 'Ewa Beach had been without water since around 2 p.m. yesterday, when a private contractor accidentally cracked the water main. The break was noted at 91-1200 Fort Weaver Road, the entrance to the Hawai'i Prince Golf Club.

"That's the main line for the whole community," said Sue Shin, BWS spokeswoman.

Though water service is restored, BWS crews continue to work on the main heading into the morning commute. Fortunately, the break is off to the side of Fort Weaver Road and should not slow traffic this morning.
