Elderly pedestrian struck by car

Advertiser Staff

A 75-year-old Honolulu woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition late yesterday afternoon after being struck by a car that was backing out of a private driveway.

At about 4:40 p.m., the woman was struck by an 82-year-old Honolulu man who was pulling his 2000 Toyota Camry out of the driveway on Ulana Street, about 370 feet from Gulick Avenue in Kalihi.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and weather was not a factor, police said.
