A tiny tsunami generated by a massive earthquake early this morning near Japan's Kuril Islands arrived about 7:20 a.m. on Kaua'i, according to officials at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Victor Sardinha, a geophysicist with the center, said the tsunami varied from 8 inches at Hanalei to 1.6 inches at Nawiliwili.

"We will be keeping our eye on the situation throughout the morning," Sardinha said.
