City council to honor fallen Marine today

Marine Lance Cpl. Derek W. Jones, who was killed last month in Iraq, will be honored at 10 a.m. today by the Honolulu City Council at the Honolulu Hale.Jones, a Kane'ohe Bay Marine from the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, was killed during combat operations in western Iraq.
The 21-year old, from Salem, Ore., is survived by his wife Pamela and their 2-year-old daughter.
