Christmas concert to feature Keali'i Reichel, Ho'okena

Keali'i Reichel will guest-star with Ho'okena when the award-winning Hawaiian musical group stages its annual Christmas concert, at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Hibiscus Room of the Ala Moana hotel.

The event begin with cocktails at 5:30 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. and show at 7 p.m.

Reichel will perform a couple of tunes from his debut Christmas album, "Maluhia," to be released Nov. 21. Ho'okena, comprised of Manu Boyd, Horace K. Dudoit III, Chris Kamaka and Glen H.K. Smith, will incorporate tunes from an earlier seasonal release, "Home for the Holidays," as well as Hawaiian favorites.

Dudoit's wife, Nani, will offer hula; the couple's son, Kalei, and his quartet from Kamehameha Schools' Sinfonietta, will provide holiday and classical selections during dinner.

Tickets are $65 for adults, $32.50 for children 4 to 11. The hotel is accepting reservations at 955-4811.
