Ann H. Chung, vice president for government and community affairs for the Hawaii Science & Technology Council, a technology industry trade and advocacy group, has been named director of the city's Office of Economic Development by Mayor Mufi Hannemann.

Chung will replace Jeanne Schultz on Dec. 1.

Chung, a Hawai'i native, graduated summa cum laude from the University of California-Berkeley. She served as the executive director of the Hawaii Technology Trade Association for six years before taking her current position.

"Ann is widely respected within tech circles as well as the halls of government, and we are pleased and fortunate to have her joining our team," Hannemann said.
