New York's Pacifika film festival invites submissions

The fifth annual Pacifika: New York Hawaiian Film Festival, to be held in May in New York, is accepting submissions.The deadline to submit films for the festival is Feb. 1. Entry forms are available on pacifika.org, or by e-mailing pacifika@hcfnyc.org.

Presented by the Hawai'i Cultural Foundation and New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, the weekend event integrates film and cultural demonstrations to explore history, human rights and identity of Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders and introduces them to New York audiences. Previous years' sponsors include Quiksilver, Film Office of the Hawaiian Islands, New York State Council on the Arts and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
