Nine-foot surf expected on North Shore today

Advertiser Staff

Surf along O'ahu's North Shore is on the way up and could reach advisory levels by early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect surf of 6 to 9 feet along north-facing shores today.

Meanwhile, surf today is expected to hit 2 to 4 feet along west-facing shores, 3 to 6 feet along east-facing shores and 2 to 4 feet along south-facing shores.

A series of northerly swells is expected to continue through the middle of next week, with the largest one bringing near advisory level surf heights to north-facing shores Monday and Tuesday, forecasters said.

A series of small southerly swells will maintain small surf along south-facing shores, the forecasters said.
