Trade winds might return by tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

It will be warm and muggy again over most of the state today, but relief in the form of renewed trade winds could be just around the corner, according to the National Weather Service.

The skies today will be mostly sunny across the island chain except for some high clouds over Kaua'i. That translates into mostly dry weather except for a few showers near Kaua'i.

Light winds are expected again today with afternoon sea breezes. but the trades are expected to pick up tomorrow.

A band of moisture west of Kaua'i will merge with a front moving down from the north tomorrow, probably resulting in increased shower activity over Kaua'i later in the day.

The same storm front will likely arrive in the form of increased trade wind showers over the other islands on Tuesday and Wednesday, forecasters said.
