North Shore may get 15-foot waves tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory has been issued for the north-facing shores of O'ahu through noon tomorrow by the National Weather Service, which said it is expecting waves in excess of 15 feet.

The surf is being generated by a storm to the north.

Swimmers and beachgoers are being cautioned to be on the lookout for hazardous shorebreak, waves and rip currents.

Motorists are being advised to be careful driving through the North Shore area and to be aware of pedestrians crossing the road at popular surfing and wave-viewing sites such as Laniakea, Sunset Beach and Pipeline.
