Two arrested in officer-assault incident

Honolulu police officers tried to break up a fight outside a Waikiki nightclub early Sunday morning when the two combatants turned on the officers, police said.

Officers responded at 3:58 a.m. and found a 23-year-old man fighting with a 22-year-old man.

When the officers intervened, the 23-year-old punched an officer. Another officer tried to arrest the 23-year-old when the 22-year-old wrapped his arm around the second officer's throat.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

Stolen car complaint leads to arrests

A stolen car complaint led Honolulu police to a Waikiki apartment Sunday morning where officers arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of stealing the vehicle.

The man also was arrested for several outstanding warrants with a total bail of $105,000.

A 34-year-old woman in the apartment was arrested on suspicion of possessing dangerous drugs and paraphernalia, unauthorized possession of personal and confidential information and theft of credit cards.

Makiki restaurant workers report gunpoint robbery

Two workers opening a Makiki restaurant at 5 a.m. Sunday were confronted by a man who forced them into a back room at gunpoint and stole money from the restaurant's office, police said.

Arrest in tie to gunshots incident

Police responding to reports of gunshots near Makaloa and Ke'eaumoku streets Saturday morning found several spent bullet casings and arrested a 25-year-old man who had a handgun.

Officers arrested the man at 5:30 a.m. on suspicion of reckless endangerment and firearms offenses.

Woman reports sexual assault

A 23-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by a man as she got into her car in Waikiki around 3 a.m. Saturday.

The woman told police that her attacker was in his late-20s.

4 arrests on suspicion of prostitution

Police arrested four women ranging in age from 19 to 42 in adjacent Waikiki apartments on suspicion of prostitution Saturday night.

Three of the arrests occurred in the same Kuhio Avenue apartment. The fourth occurred next door.
