Sale of Hawai'i locations lifts Jack in the Box profits

The sale of 25 locations in Hawai'i helped Jack in the Box Inc. report their net income rose to $33.2 million during the three months ended Oct. 1 as compared with the profit of $21.5 million a year earlier.The San Diego-based company said it had a gain of $15.6 million on the sale of the Hawai'i restaurants. Jack in the Box sold the restaurants to local fast-food executive Chris Scanlan in September.
Scanlan, president and chief executive of Scanlan Management, has also signed a development agreement to add an undisclosed number of Jack in the Box restaurants in the Islands.
