Hawai'i ranked No. 5 getaway for Southern Californians

A quick trip to Hawai'i is one of Southern California travelers' top Thanksgiving holiday weekend getaways, according to a survey by the Automobile Club of Southern California.The Aloha State ranked as the No. 5 spot for a holiday trip this weekend, trailing quick vacations to Las Vegas, Mexico, San Diego and the Grand Canyon, said the survey conducted for the American Automobile Association by the Travel Industry Association.
Overall, 4.75 Californians are expected to take Thanksgiving trips, a 2.5 percent increase from a year earlier. Of these 687,000 are expected to fly, the auto club said in a news release.
