High surf advisory remains in effect

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory remains in effect this morning for north-facing shores, the National Weather Service said. The current north swell will slowly decline this afternoon through tomorrow.

Today's forecast calls for surf along northern shores to be 12 to 16 feet this morning, but declining this afternoon.

Good waves can also be found along west shores, where the forecast calls for 4- to 6-foot surf, and along east shores, which are getting 4- to 7-foot surf and higher.

In Waikiki and along other southern shores, surf is expected to be far more tame at 1 to 3 feet.

A northeast swell may result in surf reaching the high surf advisory threshold along east-facing shores late through tomorrow, the National Weather Service said.

A moderate sized west-northwest swell is expected to arrive Thursday. This swell is forecast to peak Friday morning and slowly decline through the weekend.
