Police investigate single-car fatal crash

Police are investigating why a compact car left the roadway on Kamehameha Highway near Kualoa Beach Park and struck a rock wall, killing the driver.The driver, a woman, was the only occupant.
Police responded to a 5:38 a.m. call that a Ford Escort hit the wall, on the makai side of the road, at 49-701 Kamehameha Hwy. The car was headed north before the crash.
The city medical examiner was requested at 6:30 a.m.
The identity of the driver has not been released.
