Advertiser Staff

The man killed in a two-car accident last night has been identified by the city medical examiner as 33-year-old Felix Scanlan of Wai'anae.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Scanlan was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Care Center after he was thrown from his pickup truck. The accident occurred at 10:55 p.m. on Farrington Highway when Scanlan's black 1995 Ford Ranger pickup truck crossed the double solid yellow line and caused a head-on collision with a blue 1995 Chevy Suburban, which was driven by a 45-year-old female from Wai'anae.

The woman, along with her two passengers, were taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

The accident occurred about one-tenth of a mile past Leihoku Street.

The death is the 85th traffic fatality on O'ahu this year, compared to 69 at the same time last year.

It is not known if speed or alcohol were factors in the collision, police said.
