Rainbow Wahine volleyball match on CSTV

Advertiser Staff

Today's University of Hawaii-New Mexico State women's volleyball match will not be telecast on K5.

CSTV (Oceanic Digital channel 247) has the TV rights and is part of Oceanic Cable's premium sports package.

The 5:30 p.m. match will decide the Western Athletic Conference Tournament champion.

"The WAC made the deal with CSTV (College Sports TV) to show the finals, and thus K5 is unable to get the rights," said John Fink, general manager of K5 and KHNL.

"We chose to do the quarterfinals and semifinals of the WAC Tournament and are frustrated, like many local volleyball fans, that the finals will not be available to most fans."

UH is 26-5. New Mexico State, which ended UH its only WAC loss of the season, is 33-2.

ESPN 1420 (1420 AM) will broadcast the game.
