1903: Hawaiian Hall is dedicated at the Bishop Museum. In its account, The Advertiser noted the grass hut in the middle of the main floor and the model of a sperm whale suspended from the ceiling.

1973: The Advertiser reports that the Rev. Abraham Akaka, who would not dedicate the site of the Aloha Stadium in 1971, will give it his full blessing in a special ceremony. The decision followed a job walkout by a number of workers after a couple of accidents, one fatal, on the site.
