Rainbow Warriors roll past Pacific, 71-60

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Matt Lojeski scored 22 points and Hawai'i defeated Pacific 71-60 Saturday for third place in the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

The Rainbow Warriors (4-2) stormed to a 17-4 lead, with eight straight points on follow-up shots following offensive rebounds. Pacific (2-3) committed eight turnovers in the first eight minutes and took just eight shots to Hawaii's 17.

Hawai'i closed the half with 11 steals, including four by Lojeski and three by Matt Gibson, and nine offensive rebounds to lead 34-20.

The Rainbow Warriors maintained a double-digit lead in the second half and three times built it to 18.

Lojeski finished with five steals. Matt Gibson scored 13 points for Hawai'i and Bobby Nash had 10.

Anthony Brown led the Tigers with 19 points and 11 rebounds. C.J. Morgan had 14 points Solomon HorseChief added 10.
