TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"March of the Penguins" (2005), 7 p.m., Hallmark Channel. For four months, male penguins stand steady. They eat nothing; they withstand winds of 100 mph and temperatures of 80 below zero. Their sole mission is to keep their eggs warm while the mother penguins find food. That's part of this amazing, Oscar-winning documentary, shot in Antarctica. There's great humor, as penguins stroll — single file and dignified — for 70 miles. There's feel-good warmth and a G rating, alongside tragic moments that will briefly upset alert kids and grown-ups. Luc Jacquet filmed this beautifully. There was also great work from composer Alex Wurman and narrator Morgan Freeman.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Here's a rerun of a terrific outing. Hugh Laurie hosted, offering British brilliance. One sketch — a hotel's preparations for the queen — has the wit and nonsense of a "Monty Python" moment. The music guest was Beck. Sacha Baron Cohen showed up at the start in his Borat character.

"America's Most Wanted," 8 p.m., Fox. In Honolulu, authorities investigate Henry Calucag Jr., suspected in the death of a business associate and the disappearance of two others.

OF NOTE

Football, 3 p.m., ABC. Notre Dame visits Southern California.

"Braveheart" (1995), 5 p.m., Bravo; and "Titanic" (1997), 6 p.m., TNT. Choose between two epics, each an Oscar winner for best movie. Both are superbly made; "Titanic" manages to overlay tragedy with a richly layered romance.

"Mr. Deeds" (2002), 6 p.m., TBS; and "Big Daddy" (1999), 8 p.m., ABC Family. Cable channels tend to obsess on Adam Sandler films. Here are two, neither of which received glowing reviews. Critics were kinder to Sandler's "The Wedding Singer" (1998), at 10 p.m. on ABC Family.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. In real life, we're told, people can develop a "werewolf syndrome," including excessive body hair. Still, that doesn't justify shooting someone with a silver bullet; in this rerun, police seek explanations for the killing.

"Gary Gulman: Boyish Man," 8 p.m., Comedy Central. The towering Gulman was a witty finalist on "Last Comic Standing"; here's his solo special.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. This rerun has police trying to catch a man who rapes each victim twice.
